I exposed my last remaining rolls of Kodachrome Super 8 film.
Last weekend, with the final day of Kodachrome processing looming (if you don’t know what I am talking about, see this article), I set out to do justice to the movie film format of Kodachrome. I took my Canon Auto Zoom 814 Super 8 camera to my Mom’s on Christmas, blasted everyone with a movie light and made good-old home movies of a colorful day.
The next day at home I took a more meditative approach to my filming, and captured quiet, but of course colorful, scenes around our home. Later, as we were out driving, I threw in some guerrilla-style camera work of inane subject matter, and felt guilty for wasting precious remaining footage.
That night, the last frames were exposed, capturing flickering flames in our fireplace.
I can’t promise to upload the film. The analogue format resists the digital realm. So you may just have to stop over for a personal screening of the last rolls of Kodachrome.
