“Urban Wheat” © 2010 Jerry Mann. This photo was taken back in June, just before the harvest of my winter wheat crop— in our front yard! I am donating this print as an auction item for the Coit Market benefit.
Tonight is the 2nd annual benefit for the Coit Road Farmers Market. It is being held at the Beachland Ballroom from 6-9 pm. This event is crucial for the long-standing market in East Cleveland, and will help them with operating expenses and outreach to the community they serve. What better way to kick off Local Foods Week in Cleveland?
Please drop your dinner plans for tonight and go to the Beachland, where 10 local chefs will prepare fabulous dishes from food donated by the Coit Road Market’s farmers. You can click this link to buy tickets!
You can get more detailed info on the Coit Road Farmers Market in my blog post from last year: click here.
By the way, my small plot of wheat yielded about enough grain for 3 loaves of bread!
